BERLIN — Wavelight AG launched a new biometry tool with one-click measurement for refractive surgeons. The company introduced the technology here at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons annual meeting.

The Allegro BioGraph with EyeClick technology uses one click to scan the eye 16 times, capturing information from the front of the eye to the back of the eye, company representatives said. To assure accuracy, the company does recommend performing the measurements multiple times.

The device measures central corneal thickness, keratometry, white to white, anterior chamber depth, axial length, lens thickness and retina thickness. It also has the capability to perform IOL calculations.

"The Allegro BioGraph will complete our diagnostic devices," Johannes Krause, product manager, said at the press briefing here. "Our main focus with this system is the future and that is connecting it with an excimer laser."

The BioGraph, which was developed with Haag-Streit, has received a European CE mark, and the company plans to pursue approval in the United States as well, Mr. Klafke said.
