Vistakon introduces Acuvue Oasys contact lenses for astigmatism

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Vistakon has introduced its Acuvue Oasys brand contact lens for astigmatism, the company announced in a press release.

The new lens combines the accelerated stabilization design technology of Acuvue advance contact lenses for astigmatism with senofilcon A, the company's proprietary new generation silicone hydrogel material, as well as Hydraclear Plus, the improved formulation of Vistakon's Hydraclear technology, according to the release.

In addition, the new lens is capable of blocking more than 96% of UVA rays and 99% of UVB rays.

"Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism brings together the best features of two of the leading contact lenses on the market," Sheila Hickson-Curran, Vistakon's director of medical affairs, said in the release. "It offers outstanding visual acuity and fit for astigmatic patients, providing clear and consistent vision and comfort throughout the day. With this lens, wearers do not have to compromise vision."

Acuvue Oasys brand contact lenses may be worn continuously for up to 6 nights and 7 days, according to the release.
