A video game that uses 3-D glasses and a computer may help physicians detect amblyopia, said Jim O’Neill, MD.
The VisionQuest 20/20 works like a video game, Dr. O’Neill said. As the game progresses, the letters get smaller and smaller, and the results help determine whether the child has amblyopia or not. According to Dr. O’Neill, the game can be used by children as young as 5 years. Dr. O’Neill plans on launching his game in kindergarten and elementary school classrooms.
