OAKLAND, N.J. — Topcon has announced the international launch of two optical coherence tomography systems and an oblique illumination system, according to press releases from the company.

The 3D OCT-2000 FA and the 3D OCT-2000 FA+ offer a combination of OCT, a nonmydriatic color retinal camera, RedFree digital imaging and fluorescein angiography. The FA+ model is also capable of fundus autofluorescence imaging, the release said.

In addition, the 3D OCT-2000 FA series offers fast, high-resolution imaging, with scanning speeds of up to 50,000 A-scans per second. Both devices are also fully integrable with Topcon's IMAGEnet R4 digital imaging system.

In a separate press release, Topcon announced the commercial release of its MicroSlit oblique illumination system to the South American market. The MS-SIO1 MicroSlit Illuminator is designed to assist surgeons during lamellar corneal surgery, including DSEK and DALK.

The device, which can be mounted on a variety of microscopes, allows surgeons to verify graft attachment interface and anterior chamber depth intraoperatively, the release said.
