TLC Vision reports 24% higher revenues for 2004

ST. LOUIS — TLC Vision reported revenues of $242.2 million for 2004, a 24% increase from $195.7 million in 2003. Net income for the year increased $53.1 million, the company said in a press release.

For the full year, refractive revenues increased 21% from the previous year, to $177.4 million, the company stated. Other health care revenue grew 31% for the full year, the release said, led by ambulatory surgery center revenues. Overall, revenues from other health care services generated 27% of total net revenues, TLC Vision said.

The record earnings were attributed to refractive and cataract procedure volume increases, higher gross margins and the contribution from the company’s participation in the initial public offering from OccuLogix.
