ANAHEIM, Calif. Alcons new 25-gauge vitrectomy system is an ideal system for performing a variety of vitreoretinal and macular surgeries, according to one surgeon speaking here.
This device can be used for macular surgery, diabetic vitreous hemorrhage and epiretinal membrane, said Kirk Packo, MD, in a presentation at the Alcon exhibit during the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting.
The new system, which can be integrated with Alcons Accurus vitrectomy system, has good leak recognition, he noted.
