ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A global study found that glare and halos are common bothersome symptoms for those wearing glasses and contact lenses, according to a press release from Bausch + Lomb.

Subjects in the Needs, Symptoms, Incidence, Global Eye Health Trends (NSIGHT) study were most likely to experience these symptoms in the evening or late at night. Symptoms were often associated with bright lights, headlights, being in the dark and night driving, according to the release.

The study, which was commissioned by Bausch + Lomb, surveyed 3,800 vision-corrected subjects aged 15 to 65 years from seven different countries.

About half of the subjects reported suffering from halos and glare more than three times a week, and more than four out of five patients with symptoms found them to be bothersome.

Additional analyses and reports from NSIGHT will appear in journals and be presented at meetings throughout the year, the release said.
