STAAR expects 26% increase in revenues for fourth quarter of 2006

MONROVIA, Calif. — STAAR Surgical Company announced preliminary unaudited revenues of $15.2 million for the fourth quarter 2006, which would be a 26% increase over the fourth quarter of 2005.

STAAR published the figures Jan. 10 in advance of a financial conference yesterday. The increase was largely due to a 23% year-over-year increase in international sales, including 104% growth in refractive product sales, and a 31% increase in U.S. sales, a company official said in the release.

The company expects to release its final fourth quarter and full-year earnings on February 27, according to the release.
