Sonomed receives FDA approval for new B-scan ultrasound system

WAYNE, Pa. — Sonomed, a subsidiary of Escalon Medical, has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market the Master-Vu ophthalmic B-scan ultrasound system, according to a press release from the company.

The Master-Vu System is capable of interfacing a B-scan probe to a standard personal computer via a USB cable connection, effectively converting the computer into an ophthalmic ultrasound system, according to the release.

Sonomed plans to begin shipping the product in the United States immediately, the release said.
