PERTH, Australia — Alcon has licensed a product “that is used to assist in visualization of the vitreous fluid” during vitrectomy, according to a press release from Regenera.

Alcon will pay Regenera up-front license fees and milestone and royalty payments, and it will hold the license until the product’s patent expires, according to the release. Alcon has worldwide rights to the product, which has not yet received regulatory approval, according to Regenera.

The global license will allow Alcon to manufacture, market and distribute the product as a “visualization device” in vitrectomy surgery, according to the release.
