IRVINE, Calif. — A three-dimensional animation program simulating presbyopia will be distributed to more than 800 ophthalmologists nationwide beginning later this month, according to a press release from Refractec.

Refractec has partnered with Eyemaginations to create various 3-D animations to simulate presbyopia for use as patient education tools, the company said. The product will run on a typical personal computer, Refractec said.

Included in the presentation will be “detailed overviews and simulations of presbyopia and the NearVision CK treatment,” according to the release. Refractec’s ViewPoint CK system is used to perform NearVision CK, a refractive surgical treatment for presbyopia.
