VANCOUVER — QLT has entered into a 2-year, $1.45 million collaboration agreement with Johns Hopkins University's Wilmer Eye Institute to research and develop treatments for nonexudative age-related macular degeneration, the company announced.

The agreement provides QLT with the first option to negotiate an exclusive license to patented products stemming from research conducted at the center with its funding. Should QLT choose to license a product, the company will pay Johns Hopkins financial milestones and royalties, according to a press release from QLT.
