Ocular Surgery News will introduce a first-of-its-kind, monthly retina news section in January.

"This is an era of revolutionary change in retina. There's truly never been a more exciting time to be a retina specialist," Carmen A. Puliafito, MD, MBA, OSN Retina/Vitreous Section Editor and course director of Retina 2012, said. "And with all these changes, we need regular, reliable news updates in retina. There is no publication better to serve this need for retina specialists and other ophthalmologists than Ocular Surgery News."

The OSN retina section, which will be easy to find within OSN with its distinctive design, will be solely dedicated to retina-related news and developments and will include content such as:

  • Targeted meeting highlights — Coverage from nine retina-specific meetings accompanied by expert perspective from retina physicians
  • Behind the Lab Door — News from retina research laboratories across the country
  • What's Your Diagnosis? — Case questions and answers that will test diagnostic skills
  • Retina: In the Journals — Concise summaries highlighting key points from journal articles

The OSN retina section will make its debut in the Jan. 25 issue, coinciding with the Retina 2012 meeting, to be held Jan. 15-20, 2012, in Maui, Hawaii.
