OptiMedica launches updated photocoagulator

OptiMedica announced the launch of an update to its Pascal photocoagulator at the joint meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology.

The Pascal Streamline Photocoagulator combines basic Pascal technology with enhanced pattern creation and is capable of automatically generating a detailed printed record of each procedure, according to a product brochure.

The platform offers short, continuous pulse duration directed by three high-speed galvanometers, with precise pattern spacing for consistently spaced burns. As a safety measure, the device checks the galvanometer position and power 100,000 times per second.

The photocoagulator also has a video teaching system with built-in camera and monitor, and features a patterned laser trabeculoplasty module, according to the brochure.
