SAN DIEGO--Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society (OOSS) and Suppleye.com recently announced their alliance.

Supplyeye.com, a Web-based ophthalmic purchasing and inventory management system, has been operating for nearly one year. Suppleye.com officials said this agreement increases the value of OOSS membership to its existing and prospective members. The company announced during an ASCRS workshop that "OOSS members significantly influenced the design of the product." Additionally, all OOSS members will receive an IBM Net-Vista PC at no charge. Non-OOSS members should contact suppleye.com to qualify.

The Suppleye.com system simplifies the ordering process, company officials said. Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs) can order IOLs, viscoelastics and other surgical products online, thereby reducing inventory investment, time, error, operating costs, and increasing productivity. Products are available from such companies as Bausch & Lomb and Pharmacia.
