TAIPEI, Taiwan — The European Union has granted marketing approval to OculusGen Biomedical Inc. for its OculusGen biodegradable collagen matrix for use in trabeculectomy, the company announced.

OculusGen also received the Canadian Medical Devices Conformity Assessment System certificate and plans to submit a Canadian product license soon, according to a press release from the company.

The biodegradable collagen matrix is an implantable polymer scaffold that guides fibroblasts to create planned bleb structures for glaucoma filtration and other ophthalmic surgeries, according to the release.
