Ocular rosacea can mimic trachoma: case report
Chronic cicatrizing conjunctivitis of the upper eyelids, usually associated with trachoma, can also be associated with ocular rosacea, according to a case report.
Zac Ravage, MD, and colleagues describe a patient with upper eyelid chronic cicatrizing conjunctivitis and entropion with a history of the disease since 1999. Despite an extensive workup for other possible causes, the patients known history of acne rosacea is the most substantive explanation for her ocular disease, the study authors said.
The case report is published in the August issue of Cornea.
