Nidek adds 6-mega pixel digital camera to Navis line

FREMONT, Calif. — Nidek has commercially launched a fundus camera to work in conjunction with its Navis-3D imaging and database software. The company noted the new camera will enable repeatable simultaneous stereo color images of the optic disc, fundus and external eye, according to a Nidek press release.

The Nidek 3-Dx Simultaneous Stereo Fundus Camera is a 6-mega pixel digital camera for high-resolution digital imaging. Nidek’s founder and president, Hideo Ozawa, said “with the camera’s 3 mm offset on the patient eye, repeatable stereoscopic images can be achieved year after year even when take by different photographers and camera users.”
