YOKNEAM, Israel — Laser manufacturer Lumenis reported first quarter revenues of $65.1 million, compared to $77.4 million in revenues in 2003, in a financial news release this week. Net loss for the quarter was $4.1 million, down from $6.9 million in the first quarter of 2003. Net operating cash flow improved from a negative $8.2 million in 2003 to a positive $2.8 million in the first quarter 2004, the company said.

During the first quarter, European sales were $17.9 million, up from $17.2 million in the year-ago quarter. The Americas region had sales of $27.8 million, down from $35.9 million during the first quarter 2003. First-quarter sales for Asia-Pacific, China and Japan also decreased, to $19.4 million from $24.3 million during 2003.

The ophthalmic product line posted first quarter sales of $16.1 million, compared to $20 million during the same quarter in 2003.
