SANTA CLARA, Calif. A photocoagulation laser system for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases has received marketing clearance in the United States.
The Novus Varia photocoagulation laser system (Lumenis) offers green, yellow and red wavelengths in one standard platform, according to a company news release. Physicians can switch among the wavelengths and power settings to penetrate mild vitreous opacity, sclerotic lens or mild vitreous hemorrhage, the release states.
