LaserVision fiscal 2001 U.S. case volume up 34%

ST. LOUIS LaserVision Centers (NASDAQ:LVCI) announced today that U.S. refractive case volume for its fiscal year 2001, which ended April 30, 2001, increased 34% over its fiscal year 2000. The companys doctors performed 135,141 refractive cases in the United States during fiscal 2001, up from 100,814 for fiscal 2000.
For the fiscal fourth quarter 2001, LaserVision reported more than 37,740 U.S. refractive cases were performed, an increase of 29% over the fiscal fourth quarter 2000. LaserVision doctors have now performed more than 355,050 refractive cases worldwide. Company executives said they believe that LaserVision is responsible for more LASIK procedures on a quarterly basis than any other corporate entity.
As of May 1, 2001, LaserVision operated 106 excimer lasers in the United States providing access to more than 710 surgeons in more than 310 locations in 47 states, making it the largest excimer laser provider in the world.
