Ista reports 92% increase in third quarter revenue

IRVINE, Calif. — Ista Pharmaceuticals recorded third quarter net revenue of $15.9 million, a 92% increase over the third quarter of 2006, according to a press release from the company. Net revenue also increased 17% over the second quarter of 2007, the release said.

Specifically, compared with the third quarter 2006, third quarter 2007 sales of Xibrom (bromfenac ophthalmic solution 0.09%) increased 117% to $11.3 million, Istalol (timolol maleate 0.5%) sales increased 43% to $3 million and Vitrase (hyaluronidase) sales increased 67% to $1.5 million.

Additionally, Ista's net loss for the quarter was $8.2 million, or $0.25 per share, an improvement compared with its net loss of $11.8 million, or $0.45 per share, for the third quarter 2006, according to the release.
