Ista reports 171% increase in Q2 net revenue

IRVINE, Calif. — Ista Pharmaceuticals Inc. reported net revenues for the second quarter of 2006 increased 171% over the same period 2005 to $7.6 million, according to a press release.

The increase in revenue was driven by key product sales. Sales of Xibrom (bromfenac ophthalmic solution 0.09%) netted $4.3 million in sales. Sales of Istalol (timolol maleate 0.5%) netted $2.1 million in sales, and Vitrase (hyaluronidase) netted $1.1 million.

Despite the improved performance, the company suffered second quarter net losses of $9.2 million, or $0.35 per share, an improvement compared with a net loss of $10.4 million, or $0.40 per share, for the second quarter of 2005, according to the release.
