MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Iridex has introduced an optional MicroPulse module in the company's IQ532 green laser system, according to a press release.

"Historically, laser systems delivering a green wavelength have been our highest-selling laser photocoagulators," Dominik Beck, PhD, Iridex president and CEO, said in the release. "Providing a MicroPulse module in our green laser systems allows the adoption of tissue-sparing therapies by a broader group of ophthalmologists."

MicroPulse laser technology enables tissue-sparing photocoagulation therapies to treat eye diseases. Evidence has shown that MicroPulse treatments can bring on a therapeutic response with no detectable tissue damage and improved visual function when compared with conventional photocoagulation treatments, according to the release.

With this introduction, Iridex now provides infrared, yellow and green laser systems that can deliver MicroPulse laser treatments, the release said.
