MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Iridex has received exclusive licensing rights to all intellectual property of Ocunetics, a company that produces medical devices designed to improve surgeons' efficiency and case predictability, according to a company press release.

"Iridex will accelerate the development and commercialization of the transformative product line created by Ocunetics," Steven D. Vold, MD, cofounder of Ocunetics, said in the release. "These products have been designed to improve efficiencies in a wide range of ophthalmic surgeries."

Further terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Ocunetics products are expected to be commercialized under the Iridex brand within 18 months, the release said.
