IRVINE, Calif. — IntraLase Corp. sold 30 lasers during the second quarter of this year, bringing its total laser placements to 153 globally, the company announced in a press release. Procedures sold during the second quarter exceeded 48,000, an increase of more than 150% from the second quarter a year ago.

According to the IntraLase press release, data from the market research firm MarketScope indicate that IntraLase-created flaps were used in 14% of U.S. LASIK procedures performed in the second quarter of 2004, up from 12% in the first quarter.
