IntraLase increases revenue by almost 50% for third quarter

IRVINE, Calif. — IntraLase Corp. reported revenue of $22.9 million for the third quarter of 2005, an increase of 48% from the same quarter in 2004, the company said in a press release.
The company sold or leased 34 lasers during the quarter, compared with the sale or lease of 27 lasers in the comparable period in 2004. Laser revenues for the period increased to $11.1 million, compared with $8.6 million in the third quarter of 2004.
Highlights during the quarter included U.S. regulatory approval for the use of the company’s FS30 laser in creating corneal resections for lamellar keratoplasty and penetrating keratoplasty. IntraLase also began marketing its lasers in China and Poland during the quarter, increasing the number of countries where the femtosecond laser is available to 24.
