IRVINE, Calif. — The IntraLase FS laser has been granted the CE mark by European regulators, according to a news release.

Developed and marketed by IntraLase, the laser is used in place of a mechanical microkeratome in LASIK.

The IntraLase FS has been available commercially in the United States since 2001.

In anticipation of its European launch, IntraLase has established distributors in the Benelux countries as well as Israel, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
