Heidelberg introduces three Spectralis additions

Heidelberg Engineering launched three adjuncts to its Spectralis diagnostic imaging line at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting.

Heidelberg debuted the Spectralis OCT 2-mode system, the Spectralis FA+OCT 5-mode system and the Spectralis RNFL analysis software package, the company announced in a news release.

The Spectralis OCT 2-mode system combines confocal fundus imaging and spectral domain OCT, and is geared toward the ophthalmic technician, not the ophthalmic photographer.

The Spectralis FA+OCT 5-mode platform offers the same imaging capacity as the OCT 2-mode system and also includes fluorescein angiography and autofluorescence.

The Spectralis RNFL Analysis Software package includes new segmentation algorithms for peripapillary measurements and global/vector analysis.

The software is designed to offer repeatable detection of anatomic changes in the retina, Kester Nahen, head of marking and business development, said in the release.
