FTC clears Johnson & Johnson's acquisition of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — The Federal Trade Commission has cleared Johnson & Johnson's proposed acquisition of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, according to a press release from Johnson & Johnson.

The $16.6 billion all-cash transaction is expected to close by the end of 2006. The acquisition was also cleared by the European Commission on Dec. 11, 2006, according to the release.
