eyeonics reports $5.5 million in first quarter revenue
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. For the first quarter of 2007, eyeonics reported $5.5 million in revenue, a 36% increase over the first quarter 2006. In addition, implantations of the company's crystalens accommodating IOL increased more than 45% year-over-year and it has now been used in more than 70,000 patients, according to a press release from the company.
For the first quarter 2007, eyeonics reported an operating profit of $500,000. In comparison, the company experienced a net loss of $2.3 million for the first quarter of last year.
Company officials attributed the improved performance to a restructuring implemented in mid-2006, which emphasized new product development, according to the release.
