SAN DIEGO — Eyemaginations officials here introduced ECHO, the second release of the company's 3-D Eye Home computer platform.

"The ECHO platform now contains a post-cataract surgical care module as well as a refractive IOL model," Smitha S. Gopal, vice president of product and strategy for Eyemaginations told OCULAR SURGERY NEWS at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting.

Through ECHO, surgeons and their staff can customize patient education information, perform electronic recalls and reach patients through Facebook and Twitter. The service is free to customers using the Eyemaginations LUMA software package and will be bundled with LUMA in the future, Ms. Gopal said.

The ECHO system was previously introduced to the optometric community at Vision Expo East in New York City.
