codingIn June, Ocular Surgery News will debut the Ocular Surgery News Guide to Coding and Reimbursement. The Guide, which will cover one of the most vital topics in ophthalmology, was created in response to requests by readers and the OSN Editorial Board.

Ophthalmologists and administrators are faced with confusing challenges in filing for reimbursement, especially in light of rapidly emerging techniques and technology. The Guide will serve as a desk reference that will support ophthalmologists and their staff in making these important decisions.

Topics to be covered include:

  • tips on preventing coding and billing errors;
  • ways to find hidden profit in your practice;
  • FAQs for reimbursement;
  • developing a compliance plan;
  • evaluation and resolution of coding errors;
  • the role of the modifiers in reimbursement;
  • ASC billing and coding issues; and
  • many more special features that not only explain an issue, but also what it means to you and your practice.

The list of esteemed authors includes Kevin J. Corcoran, COE, CPC; Ann Rose; Carole Jean Wright, BSBA, CMPE, COE; Alan E. Reider, JD; and William A. Sarraille, JD.

The Guide will present information that you need to help you troubleshoot your practice to keep the auditors away and increase your bottom line.

The Guide will be mailed with the June 15 issue of Ocular Surgery News and will be distributed at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In addition, all articles will be available to you online at www.OSNSuperSite.com.
