ADELAIDE, Australia — Ellex Medical Lasers has unveiled its Integre Pro photocoagulator laser platform allowing customizable configuration of yellow, red and green wavelengths, according to press release from the company.

The platform does away with the need for a fixed mirror or external dichroic connecting the laser to the slit lamp by combining the laser delivery optics and the slit lamp. The result is a laser that is coaxial with the physician's line of vision, resulting in a high-resolution image with strong illumination of the fundus, according to the release.

"By integrating the treatment laser in the diagnostic slit lamp, we have eliminated the need for external mirrors or filters which can distort the physician's view of the retina," Tom Spurling, Ellex CEO, said in the release.

The platform marks the company's entry into the retinal laser market, according to the release.

"Historically, our focus has been on the YAG photodisruptor market for the treatment of secondary cataract. Whilst we have achieved significant success in this area — capturing a market leadership position — there is now an opportunity for us to target the larger, and more profitable, retinal laser market," Mr. Spurling said in the release
