Croma, Ruck Tmed present new cataract system

VIENNA, Austria — Qube, a new cataract system that offers reliability, effective solutions and user friendliness, was presented at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting here.

The system, from Croma and Ruck Tmed, will be available soon, according to a press release.

The bimanual/coaxial, burst/multi-burst mode, MICS/CO-MICS phacoemulsification system has an incision range for coaxial intervention from 1.6 mm to 3.2 mm, the release said.

"[It is] user friendly [with] intuitive, graphical user interface developed with hospitals and private clinics," the release said. "[It is] an effective solution [with] one-hand economical efficient and premium quality cassette system. [It is a] reliable cataract system [with] exceptional safety through perfect anterior chamber stability."

The system's required functions are controllable through the multifunctional footswitch, and it has a compact design.
