CooperVision recalls toric contact lenses

PLEASANTON, Calif. — CooperVision has initiated a voluntary recall on limited lots of Avaira Toric contact lenses, according to a company press release.

The unintended presence of a residue, identified after investigating a small number of hazy vision complaints, prompted the recall.

A resolution is in process, and Avaira Toric shipments are estimated to resume shortly, with inventory anticipated to return to normal levels by Dec. 1, according to the release.

The recall is limited to specific lots of Avaira Toric lenses. No other CooperVision products are involved in the recall, the release said.
