DENVER — In a stand-alone test conducted under U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines, a Ceragenin-based contact lens disinfectant solution eradicated five strains of bacteria and fungi within 1.5 hours, according to a press release from Ceragenix, the solution's developer.

The solution significantly outperformed two unnamed competitors in soak tests, showing a 4.19 log reduction in Fusarium solani and a 6 log reduction in fungal biofilm, the release said.

Ceragenix is currently seeking a partner to assist in further testing and commercialization of the solution, a company official said in the release.
