Conductive keratoplasty improves near vision in post-LASIK eyes
IRVINE, Calif. Conductive keratoplasty performed using the NearVision CK device appears useful for improving uncorrected near vision in eyes previously treated with LASIK, according to a press release from Refractec Inc., the device's manufacturer.
Michael Gordon, MD, evaluated the efficacy of CK in 60 patients aged 41 to 63 years who had previously undergone LASIK. He presented the results at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in Las Vegas.
At 3 months' follow-up, 95% of patients could read type equivalent to phonebook listings, 83% achieved 20/32 or better intermediate vision, and more than 90% were satisfied with their vision and depth perception, according to the release.
