IRVINE, Calif. – The Federal Aviation Administration has granted approval for its pilots to undergo conductive keratoplasty without losing their aeromedical certification for flying, according to a press release.

Refractec said its NearVision CK treatment uses radiofrequency energy, rather than a laser, to reshape the cornea. NearVision CK is indicated for the temporary improvement of near vision in emmetropic presbyopes and hyperopic presbyopes.
