A range of contact lens-related symptoms can be reduced with the use of comfort-enhanced lenses for daily disposal and daily wear that are replaced every 1 to 4 weeks, a study said.

In a 4-week trial, 83 subjects who reported experiencing two or more symptoms with a frequency of often or always were fitted with Dailies AquaComfort Plus lenses (CIBA Vision). Of the 81 subjects who completed the trial, statistically significant improvements in symptom frequency and severity were reported for tired eyes, irritated eyes, blurred vision, redness, discomfort, deposits or lens needing cleaning, and dryness, according to the study.

In addition, significant improvements in biomicroscopy signs of limbal redness, bulbar redness and conjunctival staining were seen at 2 weeks and 4 weeks of follow-up.
