Carl Zeiss Meditec introduces new systems, innovations
Two new Carl Zeiss Meditec ophthalmic systems and recent innovations to existing ocular technologies were introduced at the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting.
Carl Zeiss Meditec introduced the OPMI Lumera iSurgical Microscope, which has the same patented Stereo Coaxial Illumination as the original device, with the addition of new integrated workflow efficiencies, according to a press release.
The company also introduced the VISULAS Trion Combi System, the first multi-color photocoagulator with a photodisruptor.
"Our new innovations ... are designed to provide the clinician with better diagnostic and treatment options while streamlining efficiency in the practice," Michael Kaschke, president and chief executive officer of Carl Zeiss Meditec, said in the release.
In addition to the new systems, the company also announced recent innovations in its optical coherence tomography and IOLMaster Biometry systems. For the OCT, the Cirrus HD-OCT Review Software allows for dynamic viewing of images and analysis at a remote location.
For the IOLMaster Biometry, the IOLMaster Advanced Technology Software Version 5 offers a new composite axial length algorithm.
