SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — Biolase Technology has entered into a fully-paid license agreement to acquire patents owned or licensed by SurgiLight, Biolase stated in a press release.

Subject to a due diligence period, Biolase will own the rights to SurgiLight’s patents in the U.S. and international markets related to presbyopia. Biolase expects to pay around $2 million for the patents.

Biolase said the transaction was expected to be completed some time this month.
