CHICAGO — Bausch + Lomb plans to launch a new patient rebate program for patients implanted with its Crystalens IOL, the company announced here at the joint meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology.

Through the new See Better and Save program, patients implanted with Crystalens IOL between Nov. 1, 2010 and Jan. 31, 2011 will be eligible to receive up to $250 per eye, according to a press release form Bausch + Lomb.

"The See Better and Save program is another step in our effort to bring quality vision correction to the dynamic market of baby boomers and aging seniors," Robert E. Grant, CEO and president of Bausch + Lomb Surgical, said in the release. "In addition to giving patients a way to correct their cataracts and to have a more natural range of vision, we are also making the surgery more accessible."

Crystalens is the only FDA-approved accommodating IOL.
