WALTHAM, Mass. — Bausch & Lomb has entered into a multi-year contract with Phase Forward, with plans to implement the company's InForm Global Trial Management electronic data capture solution in all of Bausch & Lomb's clinical trials, according to a press release.

"Bausch & Lomb is committed to the use of innovative technology to help develop the highest quality eye health products in the most efficient manner," John W. Sheets Jr., corporate vice president and chief technology officer, Bausch & Lomb, said in the release. "Clinical trials are a critical element of our product development engine, and Phase Forward's [electronic data capture] solution brings a proven solution for automating and optimizing trial management."

The InForm system includes the Central Coding module, which will automate Bausch & Lomb's surgical, vision care and pharmaceutical product trials. The module will help to "streamline the process of coding medical terms for trials, automating manual tasks while increasing coding consistency and accuracy," the release said.
