Bausch + Lomb has voluntarily recalled a limited number of lots of its ReNu Multi-Purpose Solution and ReNu MultiPlus multi-purpose solution in Europe and the Middle East, the company announced.

The first measure in the recall, which stems from reports of sensitivity issues, involves a single lot of 120 mL ReNu MultiPlus solution circulating in Croatia, Dubai, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, according to a press release from the company.

The number of reports represent less than 0.1% of the packs within lot AA120, and Bausch + Lomb initiated the voluntary recall as a precaution, the release said.

In a separate action, the company voluntarily recalled a limited number of lots of ReNu Multi-Purpose Solution and ReNu MultiPlus solution in Europe and the Middle East after routine testing indicated that the products were not meeting the company's quality expectations.

"There is no indication of a safety or efficacy issue and there have been no reported adverse events; rather, this recall is being conducted as a precaution," Bausch + Lomb announced in a prepared media statement.

No other Bausch + Lomb products or additional lots of ReNu Multi-Purpose Solution and ReNu MultiPlus solution will be affected by the recall.
