ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Bausch + Lomb has extended its See Better and Save rebate program for patients implanted with its Crystalens accommodating IOL until March 31, 2011, the company announced.

The program, which offers patients up to $250 per Crystalens IOL implant, was first introduced in October at the annual American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in Chicago.

"The See Better and Save Program is working well because it provides the patient an option and makes Crystalens a more accessible choice," Robert E. Grant, CEO and president of Bausch + Lomb Surgical, said in a company press release. "The program is an important part of our effort to bring quality vision correction to the dynamic market of baby boomers and seniors that we serve."

Bausch + Lomb has also launched a national advertising campaign for Crystalens, as well as a website devoted to educating the public on the causes and treatments of cataract, according to the release.
