ROCHESTER, N.Y. — ReNu with MoistureLoc, a multipurpose contact lens solution, has gained approval from U.S. regulators to change its labeling to include a specific reference to silicone hydrogel contact lenses, according to maker Bausch & Lomb.

A press release from the company noted that, while the solution had already been approved for use with soft contact lenses including silicone hydrogel, the company “pursued the specific labeling claim to further clarify and underscore the appropriate uses of the product.”

The company also received approval to add language claiming that the product improves comfort in patients experiencing contact lens dryness, B&L said.

In other B&L news, the company said it would again delay filing of its quarterly report for the period ending Sept. 24, as its audit committee is still investigating claims of misconduct by B&L’s Brazilian subsidiary.
