ASOA names recipients of Pinnacle award
FAIRFAX, Va. — The American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators has announced this year’s recipients of the William E. Rose Jr. Pinnacle Award, honoring ophthalmology practices that demonstrate excellence.
This year’s recipients are Sondra Stateman, COE, CPC, CMPE, of Palm Beach Eye Associates in Florida; Chris McElvaine, of Montgomery Eye Physicians in Alabama; and Scott A. Bridgeman, MBA, of Eye Q Vision Care in California.
Criteria for the award include “developing and implementing exemplary policies and guidelines to help protect the practice from erroneous billing practices … efforts to maintain compliance with government regulations by providing continued training and education of all billing staff … implementation of an internal audit program to minimize billing mistakes and … development of open lines of communications with staff” to reduce and eliminate billing errors, according to an ASOA press release.
The recipients will be honored during this year’s general session of the ASOA meeting.
