SANTA ANA, Calif. — Advanced Medical Optics will sell the Complete Aquavision line of contact lenses in Europe and selected Asia Pacific markets, according to the company.

AMO signed an agreement with CooperVision Limited giving AMO exclusive selling rights to the hydrogel HEMA/GMA contact lenses. According to the press release, the lens incorporates “advanced moisture-providing constituents” that will complement AMO’s Complete line of lens cleaners.

According to the release, studies have shown the lens to retain up to 5 times more moisture than a standard HEMA lens, reducing hydration by retaining about 99% of its water content. AMO plans to combine the lens with its multipurpose solution and cleaning device.

AMO plans on marketing the lenses beginning some time in the third quarter.
