AMO to re-enter multipurpose solution market in August
Advanced Medical Optics plans to begin shipping a multipurpose contact lens cleaning solution in the United States during the first half of August, and it expects to have the solution widely available to consumers by early September, the company announced in a press release.
The new solution will be marketed under the Complete brand name and will focus on offering comfort and disinfection efficacy. It will also incorporate "the importance of proper handling and care of contact lenses, per guidelines set forth by professional eye care associations, including the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery," the release said.
AMO plans to begin shipping to other global regions in a phased-in approach throughout the fall.
